Number 150 in the Carrera 3 Register
The 150th entry in the Carrera 3.0 Register is a very interesting car from Australia.
Greg found his early Carrera 3 (Chassis Number 9116600393) in a garage in Brisbane. It's an early example, originally delivered on the 9th December 1975 (can you remember what you were doing around about then - we can, and that's one of the reasons why we love these cars!). The car's original bill of sale indicates that it's a German market car registered in Hamburg.
The Carrera was imported into Brisbane in 1998 by the son of the original owner and subsequently converted to RHD - but it hasn't been on the road since 2004. It's currently in the workshop being prepared to go back on the road: a major service, petrol tank renovation, new fuel pump and lines fitted and new brake hoses. Whilst it's in it's also having the later chain tensioners and an larger oil cooler fitted.
With less than 90,000km on the clock the leather interior is in remarkably good condition and although the paintwork will need some attention it's a superb project that Greg will keep us informed about as the car comes back to life.
